‘룰러’ 박재혁, “젠지 밸류 픽은 선수 체급에 맞춘 결과…팬들 덕분에 10년 달렸다”
10년차 프로게이머, 젠지로 돌아오다
‘룰러’ 박재혁은 어느덧 데뷔 10년 차를 맞이한 원거리 딜러다. LCK는 물론, 세계 무대를 경험한 그는 친정팀 젠지로 복귀하며 다시 한 번 새로운 출발을 알렸다.
지난 13일 열린 2025 LCK 정규 시즌에서 젠지는 DK를 상대로 2-1 역전승을 거두며 4연승을 이어갔다. 상체 3인방의 활약 속에 박재혁 역시 팀의 밸런스를 잡아주는 밸류 픽으로 눈에 띄는 활약을 펼쳤다.
젠지의 밴픽 철학, “모든 선수가 밸류픽을 하지는 않아”
박재혁은 젠지의 밴픽 전략에 대해 “밴픽에서 항상 생각하는 점은, 한쪽이 밸류픽을 하면 다른 쪽은 그에 맞는 서포트를 해줘야 한다는 것”이라고 밝혔다.
그는 미스포츈, 칼리스타, 바루스와 같은 강한 라인전 챔피언을 예로 들며 “라인전도 강하면서 팀원들의 성장을 도와주는 챔피언이 밸류픽”이라고 설명했다.
이어 “5명 모두가 밸류픽을 할 수는 없다. 조합에 맞는 균형을 맞추기 위해 많은 토의를 거쳐 결정을 내린다”며, 2세트의 코르키, 3세트의 카밀 픽이 그 결과물임을 언급했다.
LCK 복귀와 적응, “지난 LCK컵이 전환점”
2년간의 LPL 생활을 마치고 돌아온 박재혁은 “LCK 복귀 후 2주차까지 진행하면서 긴장이 많이 풀렸다”고 전했다.
특히 LCK컵에서의 경험이 큰 전환점이 되었다며 “운영적으로 많은 점을 배우고 팀적으로도 큰 변화가 있었다”고 강조했다.
팬들과의 10년, “도파민을 느끼게 해줘 고맙다”
그는 팬들에 대한 고마움을 숨기지 않았다. “여전히 팬들의 환호와 흥분을 보면 전율을 느낀다. 나 역시 그걸 느끼며 계속 달려갈 수 있었다”고 말하며,
“10년 동안 시선을 다른 데 두지 않고 선수 생활에 집중할 수 있었던 이유는 좋은 팬들 덕분”이라고 덧붙였다.
끝으로 그는 “계속 열심히 하며 도파민을 느끼는 선수가 되고 싶다”며 웃어 보였다.
